Written for Robert Lee Brewer’s April Poem-a-Day challenge. Today’s prompt is to write a safety poem.

Allen Ginsberg created the poetic form he called the American Sentence. It is a complete sentence of 17 syllables.

EASTER COLORS (three 5/7/5 poems)

1.
The Color of Redemption

I can’t bear to think
of His beautiful dark skin
ripped down to muscle.

2.
Lapis Lazuli

More precious than gold,
this deep blue embodies the
Mother of Jesus.

3.
Holy Reflection

Only light as pure
as reflects from God’s own Son
can mirror His love.
