About me

My first poem was written for a class assignment when I was in elementary school. I didn’t pick up writing again until age 51. In the many years since, I have amassed thousands of poems and a few short stories, most of which reside on my computer in disgruntled disarray.  Those who are a bit less inhibited have made their way to pictured words | a simple pairing of pictures and poetry.  A scant few have been published.

My greatest poetic achievement is co-hosting Poetic Bloomings with former Writer’s Digest Poetic Asides Poet Laureate Walter J. Wojtanik of Buffalo. I enjoy it and our talented “bloomers” immensely.

As a sometimes writer of children’s stories and forever poet who too-often loses words, I am thankful for aids, encouragers, and the prodding of prompts.  I have received far more publication rejections than acceptances, yet have a raging hunger for stories and poems to leave the nest.

Embarrassingly, I’ve done little about that. Because, see, all the fun is in rubbing noses with people from whom I can learn much about other cultures and religions, love, and life in general.  Oh, and poetry …  all the pretty poetic words I learn from all the pretty poetic souls, feeds mine richly.

I’m a firm believer in gratefulness as a lifestyle, smile as a wardrobe, and poem as an eternal verb. My greatest passion is teaching English as a second language to refugee women, and showing the love of Christ.

Thank you for visiting. Warm smiles to you.
