The Increase

“The wind, blowing through
autumn leaves,
hits many of the notes
of a spring breeze
but hidden in its song
rings winter.” ~ Jerry Walraven (aka Chev Shire)

The Increase

Seeds of inspiration come
from Chev’s poetic green thumb

where poems sprout
fleshed out
from roots in rich soil

as I toil to produce words
that seduce the poetic mind,

mine
entwined tangled muddled
befuddled.

A seed from his lush blooms
assumes it will thrive where it lands

in my hands
I weigh the chances it could fade.

Yes, one small seed (nourished)
can flourish …

and yet,
only when the seed’s needs are met.

SOW

Sow
grace where you
may.

Pray
kindness brings good
yield.

Wield
God’s most holy
word.

Gird
softness ‘round your
views.

Fuse
truth to all you
know.

Show
love in all you
sow.
