Teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) to Possible U.S. (United States) Citizens

We are too different to unite.
I will never be convinced
Integration is possible.
I see
Insurmountable hurdles.
Listen: Don’t be fooled into thinking these are
U.S. citizens in the making

A reverse poem.  Now read from the bottom line to the top.

FOR YOU

Your life can’t be good.
Don’t listen to those who say
God can make a way.

Time is running out.
It isn’t possible your
Changes can be made.

You have to settle.
Don’t believe for a second
Your life means something.

This is a Reverse Poem.  Please read the poem again from the bottom, up. I wrote this 3-stanza poem in my favorite 5/7/5-syllable style.

ON 2020

This year destroyed us.
I’ll never be convinced that
We can survive this.

There’s no going back.
I know it. So don’t tell me
Better times will come.

God no longer cares.
Hear me. Do not believe that
God is in control.

This poem is 3 stanzas.  Each stanza has 17-syllables (5/7/5).  This is my first ever attempt at a Reverse format poem. (Read the poem from the top line, down … and then read it from the bottom line, up.)
