And How Was Your Morning?
by Marie Elena
It’s been weeks,
so we meet at McDonald’s at 5:30 a.m.
for a hot breakfast,
only we are greeted by a locked door, and a sign:
“sorry for the inconvenience,”
so we spend ten minutes of precious time
searching another location
while others this morning are searching
rubble
for dead loved ones in Nepal.

So easy to get lost in the day-to-say details and bogged down by minor inconveniences. This is a perfect reminder of how precious our time truly is and what really matters.
It sure is, my friend.
Marie, this is so powerful, so poignant! It puts things into serious perspective… I love what you did in this poem.
Thank you! That means a great deal to me, coming from you … it has been wonderful finding you and your words this April.
Thank you so much Marie! The feeling is mutual 🙂
Oh Marie – you are sharing a different, and profoundly beautiful aspect of your melodic poetic range. This is stunning!
Wow. Thank you so, so much. You leave me speechless with your generous compliment, birthday Pearl!
You help see things through the right glasses, Marie… Thanks!
Thank YOU, Nurit. Your opinion means a great deal to me.
POW. Straight to the gut. So good.
Thank you, De.
