BURY AN ANGEL
by Marie Elena
Tell me, please, just how to speak
To pain that dwells within hell’s flames
And taunts a further depth to seek.
(Prayers, please, for a young teen mother who found her two-month-old baby dead in her crib this morning. Prayers also, please, for the pastor of her church, who is in such pain for her that he does not know how to give her any comfort and answer her sobbing pleas of “why?” Just heartbreaking …)
Heartbreaking, indeed. What can anyone say to ease such a loss? Sending love and strength along the wires. ❤
Wow, such an intimately painful poem. I, too, will pray.
Thank you, Janice.
This happened to a friend of mine. There is no why, no comfort in words only time to mute the pain and memory to hold this precious one.
Thank you, Deb. My heart goes out to your friend as well.
So sad…I can’t even imagine…I read this late last night and prayed immediately. Sending love and knowing that the comfort of the Divine Creator will heal… ♥
Thank you so, so much. The situation is just too sad for words. 😦
All positive energy flowing toward this young mother and the pastor. I do believe that even the most horrible of life events do eventually make sense in the fabric of our lives – everything may very well happen for a reason – even if at the time there seems to be no possible reason for something as truly heart-breaking as this. Having “lost” two babies at the four and half month mark – I can hardly imagine the horror of the death of this living infant. Yes, perhaps everything happens for a reason – if we can only live long enough for the pieces to fall into place and the reason to make some sort of sense in the tapestry of our life. My heart goes out to the mother and to all involved in the impossible task of trying at this moment to ameliorate or even lighten her pain – all one can do is follow her lead. Heart-wrenching.
Thank you again for your wisdom and love.
