UNTITLED RYŪKA FORM

After school, two five-year-old boys
Hug and cry in the parking lot
As one is moving far away
And how would it be possible
To span that large of a distance
When you are two five-year-old boys
Whose parents are not acquainted
And all there is left to do is
Hold each other and cry

This was inspired by a situation that happened today.
My little great nephew Eamon had to say goodbye to one of his best friends, a little boy in his pre-school class. His daddy (my nephew-in-law) posted this today on FB:
“Today as we’re leaving school, Eamon told me that one of his best friends was moving to Arizona. As we’re leaving the lot he saw him leaving and the flood gates opened. I pulled a u turn, opened the door and those 2 little 5 year olds hugged and cried for 5 minutes in the parking lot. So sweet.”
Makes me tear up reading it again. How sweet is Eamon’s daddy to turn around and give them this time together?
These little boys are so young to be learning such a difficult life lesson. 😦
Is this your imagination, or is it based upon a real situation?
