un câlin pour un allié (a hug for an ally)
by Marie Elena
Hate reigns. What remains
To say? To pray?
Our sin in errant skin –
Our callous view of life
As strife endures, and carnage lures
The vilest mind.
Weep desolately deep
As France steeps in blood,
And floods of tears release
A piece of Nice.

Hello Beth. I had found the image you refer to and given credit to the one whose site I found it on: Jeremy Mandile (credited in my tags). I don’t know if this photo is actually yours or his, but I will remove it immediately, with my apology.
I replaced it with a photo taken by my husband.
So beautifully, urgently stated, Marie.
Thank you, Sara.

Though intrigued, I’m not quite certain what this site is. I look forward to checking it out and learning more. In the meantime, I am honored that you visited my humble “pictured words” site, and chose to link to my poem regarding the horror in Nice. Thank you, and God bless you.
Thank you, Sheryl. So wishing it wasn’t needed. 😦
