As I Near My Autumn Days
by Marie Elena
As I near my autumn days,
I think of all I have not experienced.
No trips abroad.
No vacation home.
No award-winning book.
No fame.
No second-glance beauty.
I think of all I have not experienced.
Yet, let the autumn leaves summon,
For I am content to sit side-by-side,
In dappled sunlight or soaking rain.

Love that last stanza. The photo is appropriate for this poem. Good match.
Thank you!
Love this
Thank you, Jane!

Wonderfully written. Perfect finale. We must be appreciative of the sun and rain. I loved this.
Thanks so much.
Wonderfully wise life review, dear Marie.
Coming from such a wise and wonderful heart, that means a great deal.
Let’s face it. We don’t need all of those things you mentioned.
Absolute truth, Sheryl!
Lovely. It seems to be a theme today, this autumn of our years.
Thank you!
