I had kind of promised myself I would not get morbid during this PAD challenge. But here I am. I’ll try to write another poem that sparks a smile or a smirk. 😉

Marie, your words convey the thoughts I have after I visit my 88 year old mother who lives in a long term care facility. In-person family visitations were cut off weeks ago. But I can walk around to the back of the building where we press our faces close to her room’s window and speak loudly enough for us to understand each other. Then as I drive back home, with events happening so quickly for those at greatest risk, I wonder if that visit was my last.
Oh my. 😦 David, these times we are in are just so hard. But especially for our elderly in homes where we can’t really visit them. Please be safe. And … I miss you.
