A Buffalo poet and I have never met, yet
a common garden of unlocked gate, with
we welcome as friends we’ve also never met
pretty poesies of love and life -- friends who share
with verses that enrich the song

This is a little tribute to Walt Wojtanik of Buffalo and the poets who frequent the poetry site we share, called Poetic Bloomings.
The form used (waltmarie) was created by Candace Kubinec, and featured on the Writer's Digest.
Here are the guidelines for writing the Waltmarie:
-Even lines are two syllables in length, odd lines are longer (no specific syllable count)
-Even lines make their own mini-poem if read separately
Thanks, Misk! ❤
A waltmarie. Very interesting guidelines. A lovely photo, too. Actually, a waltmarie sounds like a great name for an adult beverage.
“Yes sir, bartender.
I would like a waltmarie
on the rocks, thank you.”
See what I did there? Made a haiku (I think?). Haven’t done that in a long time. Almost threw my back out! Better leave this to the professionals. Cheers.
HA!! So “you” in every way. 😉 Thanks for stopping by, my friend!
