St. Thomas Island’s Caret Bay (“Someday” Comes – a Roundelay)
by Marie Elena
Exploring life on new frontiers,
Today my luvs move far away.
Our seasons come in waves and tiers
As drizzle falls from sky of gray
I hug them tight, yet curb my tears.
I have to hold my heart at Bay.
Our seasons come in waves and tiers.
As drizzle falls from sky of gray.
Attentive to the fleeting years,
I want for them sun’s ray. Son’s ray.
I hug them tight, yet curb my tears.
I have to hold my heart at Bay.
Acquainted with life’s fleeting years,
I want for them sun’s ray. Son’s ray.
May God’s vast grasp be crystal clear,
And richly sensed on Caret Bay.
I hug them tight, yet curb my tears.
I have to hold my heart at Bay.
May God’s vast grasp be crystal clear,
And richly sensed on Caret Bay.
Goodbyes are said, and it appears
The time is now, and not “someday.”
I hug them tight, yet curb my tears.
I have to hold my heart at Bay.

Beautiful dear Marie. This mother’s heart feels your sorrow. Much love to you and yours.

Janell, you are so sweet. Thank you. ❤
Oh Maria, what waves of hope and heart deep angst. Beautiful blend of what are too often thought of as conflicting emotions.
Thank you so much.
Those last two lines in each stanza say so much.
Yes, may God keep them in His grasp.
Thank you, and amen.
My friend! This is STUNNING. In form, and at heart. I had no idea your loves were moving SO far. What takes them to St. Thomas? (And is it okay to admit I am green – and BLUE – with envy?)
Praying over your people, especially those two amazing girls, and over YOU. I know you will miss them so. Plan a trip! Sooooon!
Thank you, De. Your prayers mean so much.
